Location: This position is remote, based from a home office in Canada
Digital Construction Works has an exciting new opportunity for a talented Senior Cloud Data Architect focused on Big Data who is enthusiastic about leveraging bleeding-edge technologies to build and maintain a software solution for the Digital Construction industry. You will be responsible for and take part in all the development stages of this software, leveraging agile methodologies, C#, .NET CORE, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory/Synapse, Data Pipelines, Data Warehousing, Reporting, ETL Technologies, and MSFT Azure to work on developing Digital Twins.
You will be part of an international team that influences development of the world’s infrastructure, gain valuable experience on latest technologies, work on challenging and interesting tasks every day with highly skilled professionals on next generation software.
Responsibilities:
- Architect our second-generation data warehousing solution from the ground up.
- Collaborate with development team management, development leads, and other developers to complete tasks.
- Design and develop new features and solutions for our data warehouse and data processing pipelines.
- Work with a team in an agile, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery software development process.
- Demonstrate a commitment to writing testable and maintainable code while actively giving and receiving feedback.
- Quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and approaches as they come.
- A strong-willed self-starter who wishes to make an impact in the digital construction industry.
Required Skills:
- BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, closely related field or relevant experience
- Min. 7 years’ experience in data cloud platform technologies
- Strong experience with data science, data engineering, and integration tools and patterns
- Experience in cloud methodologies and query languages like SQL
- Cloud Development Expertise in Azure Functions, Azure Data Warehousing, Data Warehouse design and development patterns.
- ETL methodologies and transactional based storage patterns.
- Familiarity with Restful APIs and Data Integration techniques.
- Proficient in MS SQL
- Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and Design Patterns.
- Familiarity with reverse engineering of code, refactoring, debugging, testing units and troubleshooting.
Desired Skills:
- Experience leading the development of custom technical solutions leveraging modern architectural patterns, standards, and tools
- Experience with requirements interpretation, as well as the documentation of data flows and creation of system diagrams
- Understanding of software development (including testing) methodologies, and cross-functional experience throughout various life-cycle phases
- Cloud technology and Web Service Integration experience
- A foundational understanding of common architectural patterns.
- Report building leveraging PowerBi
- Database design and search indexing/optimization
- Windows Azure, SQL Azure, Azure Functions, Azure Event Grids, and Azure Storage Concepts
- Knowledge of agile scrum development, test driven development, Continuous Delivery and DevOps processes.
- Experience using Visual Studio, Visual Code, Git, Azure Devops/JIRA, etc.
