The Science & Enabling Units IT is AZ’s global IT capability function supporting key business areas operating out of sites across the US, UK, Sweden, India & Mexico.

We are looking for an experienced scrum master who should have excellent knowledge of the scrum framework, with all its artifacts and techniques.

Roles

We are looking for a scrum master to join our newly formed AI Ops platform team within Science IT. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience working with platform, product or software engineering teams to help lead cloud-based machine learning solutions from an organizational or planning perspective. The candidate would be responsible for coordinating the large scale development of multiple machine learning, data science and artificial intelligence platforms, liaising with platform leads to ensure continual delivery, owning and managing the sprint reporting

Responsibilities:

• Be part of the development roadmap to build and operationalise our data science environment, platforms and tooling.

• Agile coaching and supporting the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog

• Setting up sprints in JIRA/Confluence with necessary Sprint planning, Backlog prioritisation and Capacity forecasting

• Organizes and facilitates the sprint planning meeting

• Coordinating and organising Show & Tells, Velocity reviews and other Scrum related meetings.

• Creating Resource burn down charts and other reporting artefacts

• Resolving sprint blockers and managing resource allocation during sprints delivery from multiple teams

• Updating JIRA with progress and structuring JIRA dashboards

• Acts as a change agent that increases the productivity of the team

Mandatory skills:

• Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least 5 years for a software/data development team.

• Experience with widely successful Agile approaches and techniques.

• Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings and daily stand-ups

• Experience as a team lead.

• Experience driving an Agile team using metrics

• Strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills

• Problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability

• A strong passion to create a great place to work

Desired skills:

• Domain knowledge (processes & data): Pharma R&D

• An understanding of infrastructure as code

• A high-level understanding of data science and the tools that data science use to solve problems.

• Advanced Jira knowledge and usage (or similar tool)

• Confluence usage (or similar tool)

• Scrum Master certification (or equivalent experience)

• Experience driving business reporting and managing a team using agile performance metrics.
