JOB DESCRIPTION:

Astra Zeneca is a global, innovation-driven bio-pharmaceutical business that focuses on the discovery, development and commercialization of prescription medicines for some of the world's most serious diseases. The Science & Enabling Units IT is AZ’s global IT capability function supporting key business areas operating out of sites across the US, UK, Sweden, India & Mexico.

We are looking for ETL support engineer who will leverage tools & technology best practices to improve application stability and performance

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Proven working experience as an ETL developer
• Interpret data, process data, analyze results and provide ongoing support of application
• Acquire data from data sources and load/maintain in datawarehouse
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
• Troubleshoot issues raised by users and provide timely resolutions
• Strong knowledge of and experience with data integration tools (ETL) (Talend etc), databases (SQL, redshift, S3 etc)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve production issues
• Adept at queries, root cause investigation and adhere to SLA’s
• Locate and define application improvement opportunities
• Flexible to work in regular and 2nd shifts (2pm to 10pm IST)

MANDATORY SKILLS:

• ETL experience with Talend/Informatica etc
• Any DB skills like Netezza, Teradata, Redshift, etc
• Understanding of business area / process in scope
• Willing to work in a cross cultural environment
• An analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving
• Eager to learn and develop new tech skills as required
• Attention to detail and good written and verbal skills
• Some domain knowledge (processes & data): Lifesciences, Pharma R&D, ITIL

DESIERED SKILLS:

• AWS cloud and Redshift experience
• ITIL knowledge
• Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team to achieve objectives
• Working in a support and maintenance project

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:  Bachelors / Masters in Computer Science or related subjects

OVERALL YEARS OF RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:  6 to 8 years
