ABOUT THE ROLE

Leadership

• Accountable for functional performance of QA function aligned to assigned platform portfolio
• Effectively coach, provide guidance to QA staff aligned with assigned platform portfolio
• Provide oversight of multiple workstreams to ensure testing standards, process and results aligned to AZ standards
• Design the testing strategy and approach that will deliver an improved service in terms of cost and quality. Provide day to day management of testing services performance from staff based on GTC Chennai and GTC Guadalajara

Process and Technical

• Effectively communicate, negotiate, and influence release-train stakeholders (PM, Development Lead, Service Lead, Users) to ensure alignment with test approach and execution that represents "best fit" of effort, benefit, and cost
• Accountable for QA services quality to assigned platform portfolio. Includes periodic review of QA work products for alignment to standards
• Facilitate x-platform reviews of innovation, practice improvements and drive improvements consistency across all platforms within assigned portfolio
• Apply platform-specific test strategies. For example, platform aligned KPIs, metrics like AD to Test ratio; FTE and Contractor ratio; etc.
• Establish and lead execution of QA roadmap - drive innovation, improvements across QA team
• Maintain financial tracking of QA services across assign platform portfolio to budget
• In partnership with Platform Manager, SDC leads - establish productivity benchmarks for QA staff functionally reporting into QA Platform Lead Provides technical support for creating dashboards for the Sales Reps to track their daily activities
• Provides technical leadership to SDC associate test engineers and contractors when appropriate on the implementation of good test practices and software quality assurance principals.
• Implements test plans and strategies for solutions developed in-house (including functionality, integrity and stress testing; test matrices; and definition of test methodologies).
• Ensure that testing approaches and tools are appropriate based on the combination of cloud-based and in-house platforms and software development.
• Prepare estimation for projects based on scope & timeline to identify the resource needs
• To ensure the effective resource allocation across projects and to draft a mitigation plan based on risk
• Ability to work in challenging environment to drive the team based on dynamic requirement changes
• Ability to build a strong relationship with the business & partners to satisfy the project needs / demand
• To identify the knowledge gaps & create an internal SME within SDC
• To prepare the metrics / summary report for each project to identify the areas of improvements to mitigate the risk in future.
• Responsible for managing the test data corresponding to the testing approach applied.
• Assist in defining the AstraZeneca’s testing methodologies and quality control standards.
• Acting as the focal point for automated testing within the cross-functional agile development team, continuously testing and liaising with other team members to ensure the project is released on time, with the required quality and functionality
• Creating and maintaining test documentation including test cases, test scripts etc.
• Analyzing defects and identifying their root cause
• Accurately reporting test results into the defect tracking system and following issues through to satisfactory resolution Skills / Qualifications Essential Skills
• Creating test suites for web services and APIs
• Cross browser testing of web applications / mobile testing experience
• Data driven testing and competency in writing SQL queries using tools such as Toad and SQLDeveloper.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED

• Degree level education in computer science or similar
• Prior testing experience with good business acumen
• Experience of working within a quality and compliance environment and application of policies, procedures and guidelines
• A good understanding of the software development / testing process
• Good writing skills (for documenting the process)
• Good communications and consultancy skills
• Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language
