Job description:

The Science & Enabling Units IT is AZ’s global IT capability function supporting key business areas operating out of sites across the US, UK, Sweden, India & Mexico.

We are looking for a hardworking Big Data developer who will demonstrate tools & technology standard methodologies to improve delivery performance & data engineering capabilities in the D&A space.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide data engineering support to Science and Enabling Units IT portfolio.
• Deliver cost effective solutions to support data engineering activities, for example, Big data workflows
• Test and quality assess new D&A solutions, to ensure they are fit for release: code assurance, Unit and System Integration Testing, Data testing, release management control and support of UAT processes
• Ensure that business data and information assets are made available as data services and artefacts for consumption by the wider AZ enterprise

Required skills:

• Experience of working with a range of data analytics architectures. These may include: traditional warehousing, visualization
• Hands-on experience in writing ETL and ELT jobs and Spark/Hadoop jobs to perform computation on large scale datasets.
• Strong hands-on real-time big data development experience in Hadoop Ecosystem (Apache Hive, Apache Pig, Apache Sqoop, Apache Spark)
• Programming skills: Core Java / Python, Scala (knowledge of at least one programming language is a must)

Desired skills:

• Domain knowledge (processes & data): Pharma R&D
• Knowledge of AWS/Redshift, Big Data Modelling
• Performance Tuning in Hive Query Language.
• Knowledge in Unix Shell Scripting/SQL/ AWS / AWS Data pipeline, Data Integration
• Possess excellent analytical abilities and interpersonal skills
• Should be a flexible team player

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: Bachelors/Master’s Degree in Computer Sciences or related fields from a reputed institution.

Preferable industry: IT
