• Liaise with all stakeholders to prepare estimation and project plans, schedule and allocate tasks when necessary
• Lead work stream(s) independently in case of project need and perform planning and coordination work to ensure successful project delivery with good quality
• Develop technical specification documents using defined technical documentation templates and/or develop system accordingly based on the requirement when necessary
• Follow HSBC IT engineering standards and propose improvement suggestion on project deliveries
• Apply specialist expertise in the development with the objective of improving quality and increasing cost-effectiveness
• Influence the developers through technological excellence
• Research, define and enhance the development processes with guiding the team members on technology choices, coding standards, build and deployment procedures and software release management
• Define effective standards and ensure all are followed by all team members
• Provide guidance to the development team to develop/integrate the applications and systems to deliver the agreed functional and non-functional requirements
• Work closely with the manager, Business and other IT groups (including vendors) globally to deliver the best solution
• Maintain excellent relationship with all stakeholders
• Liaise with wider teams to explore the possibility of re-use of available tools/designs/application components as required

• 10+ years’ IT working experience.
• Experience in J2EE technology.
• Experience in Web technologies (e.g. JSP, Javascript, XSL, XML, etc).
• Experience in DB2, Oracle SQL and stored procedures development
• Experience in mainstream technologies is preferred (e.g. EJB3, Spring, Hibernate, Ajax, etc).
• Experience in Technical Design and UML is preferred
• Strong problem solving skills, communication and interpersonal skills
• Good financial knowledge and business sense would be an advantage
• Able to work under pressure and demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm and rapid learning capability
