We are seeking a self-motivated Senior Consultant with strong leadership capabilities who is passionate about joining a collaborative and diverse global team.  As a Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for analyzing business needs, designing, developing, and implementing solutions for Bentley’s OpenUtilities users around the globe.  Additionally, you will be responsible for assisting with drafting strategies, designing solutions using established processes, and collaborating with management to work across the organization supporting success.

 

To be successful as a Senior consultant, you should demonstrate exceptional knowledge of the utility network engineering design process, be able to deliver quality work that will drive user satisfaction, poses excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well within a fluid, innovative and collaborative environment.

 

Location:  This role is remote, based from a home office in the US.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the adoption of our OpenUtilities products within major accounts, engaging with users for all aspects of their business.
  • Performing OpenUtilities related activities such as installing, configuring, troubleshooting and staying current with upgrades, updates and patches.
  • Contribute to the documentation of best practices, improvement of internal processes, templates, and cross-team collaboration.
  • Administrative tasks include the maintenance of Datasources, standards and work processes, along with developing procedures that allow designers to work as a team.
  • Define and convey user configuration and workflow needs to meet specific business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain end-user training materials in Bentley LEARN for OpenUtilities products.
  • Delivering end User and Administrator training.
  • Troubleshooting systems related to OpenUtilities Infrastructure.
  • Diagnose, escalate, and resolve project issues.
  • Understand and execute business risk analysis in support of developing sophisticated project plans and proposals.
  • Preparing and executing presentations to high level customer management while duly representing Bentley.
  • Proactively and systematically inform internal and external stakeholders on project progress, issues, escalations, and success.
  • Gather business requirements and convert them into system-level requirements, to build user test scripts.
  • Develop documentation such as test plans, application guides and as-built documentation.

 

Qualifications:

  • An understanding of electrical engineering and utility network management with strong emphasis on engineering design, together with relevant industry experience.
  • Knowledge of Utility Network engineering project workflows.
  • Experience in managing OpenUtilities or similar systems, such as (SBS, ArcFM, GE SmallWorld Electric Office, Intergraph G/Technology)
  • An understanding of spatial databases, such as (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and SQL-Lite)
  • Some experience implementing solutions using Groovy, SQL, JavaScript and REST APIs.
  • Ability to travel up to 35%.
  • Ability to prepare for emerging user needs, manage multiple projects and determine project urgency
  • Work with existing tenured team and be eager to support best practice documentation, following existing process, while improving and adding value to the growing services library.
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer. The role requires communication with managers, peers, and other colleagues of the company in person (on occasion), and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling and meeting functions.
