Eaton’s Digital Office is currently seeking a Senior Software Implementation Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Tampa, FL location with the option for remote work. Position Overview: The Senior Software Implementation Engineer will be responsible for delivering our software solutions to our partners and customers. Installation activity will be with proof of concepts, production installations, upgrades, migrations and other technical software requirements related to the application environment. The Sr. Software Engineer role and day to day activities will be tightly aligned with the project management, account management and support teams to ensure a high-quality delivery of consulting services to the customers. In this function you will: Validate customer server and general platform readiness for installation services Provide installation and configuration services to customers and partners as detailed in the project Statement of Work Perform upgrade and migration services for existing software implementations Document as built architecture for systems which have been deployed to the customer servers Enter time and task updates to the project management software to enable accurate reporting Manage expectations and resources from customers and partners to deliver consulting tasks for the customer Rigidly enforce scope for delivery of tasks with escalations to project management when requests are not in scope Develop and maintain advanced skills related to the application related to installation, configuration, implementation and troubleshooting Contribute product enhancements and feature concepts to the product management team for inclusion in upcoming releases Contribute to product documentation to ensure the product library of administrative, installation and user guides is complete and accurate Deliver training, how-to sessions to customers and partners on key features of the application Assist with implementation, maintenance and staging of internal reference instances of the application Why work at Eaton? Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Software Support Engineer (or related role) with a proven track record of delivering high quality customer service with a diverse set of customers and partners. Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a data center environment with an understanding of space, power and cooling concepts. Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer [Cyber]Security, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or comparable degree from an accredited institution. Bash and shell scripting capabilities to create and edit basic scripts. Bilingual in Spanish and English (written and verbal). Position Criteria: Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with customers. Ability to calmly manage customer escalations and urgent issues to closure. Strong capability to balance evolving task priorities to address open items for competing requests. Deliver customer facing services with a strong focus on end user customer satisfaction. Operate in a team matrix environment with account team, project team and other support team members to achieve high quality support results. Advanced Linux command line skills for server side installation, configuration and troubleshooting tasks (CentOS, Oracle Enterprise, Red Hat Enterprise). Intermediate skills related to server networking concepts to troubleshoot customer issues with application features. Intermediate skills related to SQL database with a preference of PostgreSQL command line skills. understandable solutions.
