Position Overview The ideal candidate must have worked in the field of Automation Engineering specifically as an integrator for equipment with or for Mercedes Benz. The Controls Engineer will work to produce software packages, on schedule and on budget, to meet the customer contract requirements and the customer expectations. Develop and design control software, integrate software with electrical and mechanical systems and perform the commissioning at customer sites. Responsibilities Engineering and commissioning software only for SIEMENS SIMATIC controllers and HMIs. Software will be used in automotive plants on our automation equipment to help our customers build their products. Responsible for PLC/HMI code development, code installation, debug on job site, and commissioning of the complete system. Active role in the creation of new automated systems as well as the optimizing of existing ones Your responsibilities will include: Performing the commissioning of components, systems and solutions on customer site Planning the required activities. Preparation of reports and documentation of the commissioning results. Analyzing the system behavior and the interaction of single elements. Executing the hand-over to the customer personnel and their briefing. Contribute as test engineer to admittances, routine and type tests. Perform or support the determination or specification of the required test equipment. May lead the commissioning staff functionally. Control the mentioned tasks and /or provide supervisory guidance at site. BA in Electrical Engineering or Automation Engineering Proficiency in the field of Automation Engineering specifically as an integrator for equipment with or for Mercedes Benz. Advanced understanding with automotive standard Mercedes Benz Integra application 5 years of hands on proficiency in the field of automation engineering application development Strong hands on working knowledge with Automotive Industry assembly system programming (conveyor technologies & process equipment) Programming Personal Safety equipment (i.e. Sick PLS) 5 years of experience in SIEMENS Simatic PLC and HMI (Siemens Step 7, TIA Portal, WinCC) 5-10 years of experience with drives (Siemens, SEW, Lenze) Experience with controls network setup and commissioning such as Ethernet and Profibus 25% Travel Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience CMSE® - Certified Machinery Safety Expert - Pilz US or equivalent German language skills are a plus Mercedes Benz Integra certification #LI-JK1 Organization: Digital Industries Company: Siemens Industry, Inc.
