Job Description

Accountabilities:

Develop and execute the Country Communications Strategy (Corporate Profile, Product PR etc.).

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute local corporate reputation strategy aligning messages across the business

  • Manage outside resources and agency to execute strategies.

  • Leadership Communications:

  • Develop corporate narrative and briefing materials including messaging and FAQ for spokesperson; coordinate media interviews; work with the journalists to ensure the messages are correctly reported; provide counsel.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key local media and strengthen the Amgen corporate profile via media

General Corporate Communications:

  • In partnership with Corporate Affairs Function maintain consistent look and feel for site in all internal and external communications including Internet, intranet and site.

  • Be a strategic partner to the GM and BUDs in questions re communications 

  • Share best practice among cross country Corporate Affairs colleagues 

  • Develop, execute and maintain local Corporate social media channels

  • Ensure alignment with the regional and global corporate affairs organization 

  • Maintain and improve corporate website as a platform

Product Communications:

  • Work with the brand teams to understand their communication needs and collaborate to enhance their overall communication plans from corporate perspectives;

  • Develops and executes local product PR strategy in alignment with local business unit needs and consistent with Global Product PR strategy

Internal Communications:

  • Plan and execute internal communication initiatives

  • Develop narratives and FAQ for GM;

  • Host VIP visits (media, community leaders and elected officials, Amgen executives).

Special Situations:

  • Work with Corporate Affairs and management to provide communications counsel for issues management

  • Oversee the planning and execution of communications in Special Situations to minimize negative effects and build reputation as a responsible corporation.

Social Responsibility:

  • Develop a community engagement strategy that delivers clear benefit to Amgen Turkey and supports local communities in meaningful ways; develop programs to deliver the strategy

Authority:

  • Manage Corporate Affairs budget at country Level

  • Select agencies to execute communication strategies

  • Sign-off expenses and contracts (up to his/her approved limit)

Qualifications:

The knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of this position are typically acquired through the following combination of education, experience and knowledge, or the equivalent.

Minimum Requirements:

  • University Degree

  • Well-rounded knowledge and experience in public relations, including internal communications, minimum 7+ years experiences as a corporate communicator/strategic PR planner

  • Basic knowledge in pharmaceutical business, disease state education and clinical data announcement

  • Strong command of both English and Turkish speaking/writing

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in communications, public relations, or marketing

  • Track record of successfully establishing and maintaining cultural transformation processes

  • Record of success in participation on and in supporting teams

  • Strong leadership skills with knowledge and ability to work well within a matrix environment

  • Develop and maintain relationships that inspire trust and respect. Building a network and being able to influence others to make things happen.

  • Skilled in organizational communication and providing leaders and managers with communication skills counsel

  • Analytical and strategic thinking with ability to formulate, develop and execute product communications and strategies
