Job Description

Intel is seeking highly qualified engineers to join the "Algorithms: Crypto and Compression" team within the Systems Architecture and Engineering (SAE) group. This team specializes in developing innovative products and solutions. We are a well-established cross-site team that delivers innovative solutions that have been employed in a wide variety of Intel products. We are looking for a motivated, passionate, and talented engineer with extensive experience in optimizing software and hardware implementations of crypto algorithms. In this role, you will lead the development of highly efficient crypto hardware that will be used to accelerate targeted workloads and lead the development of highly efficient crypto software implementations using x86 assembly. You will be exposed to different hardware implementation techniques of complex algorithms and be expected to implement them in RTL (Register Transfer Level). You will be expected to develop highly optimized crypto implementations using x86 assembly as well.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Define and write architecture/microarchitecture specifications.
  • Design RTL logic using System Verilog including assertions/cover points, work with validators for design verification, synthesize the design and close timing.
  • Balance design trade-offs with performance, power, area, modularity, and scalability.
  • Work closely with Physical Design Engineers for floor planning activity, synthesis, and timing analysis.
  • Develop highly optimized x86 assemblyDevelop hardware or software implementations of new crypto algorithms.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.



Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Computer / Electrical Engineering or related field and sufficient industry work experience
  • Record of accomplishment of research through published papers or in academia.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading research and setting technical direction.
  • Patents issued in the area of applied cryptography
  • Proven experience in RTL design of crypto algorithms including functional and performance validation using System Verilog as well as logic synthesis and timing closure
  • Proven experience in IP (Intellectual Property) integration and debug.
  • Proven experience in developing x86 highly optimized crypto algorithms


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sufficient experience RTL/Logic design of complex modules (e.g., ALUs (Arithmetic Logic Units))
  • Sufficient experience in IP/SOC physical design and database convergence.
  • CPU (Central processing units) architecture and microarchitecture (x86)
  • Knowledge of emerging cryptographic areas such as homomorphic encryption and/or post-quantum cryptography

Work Model for this Role

This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
