What does Success Look Like?

In your role as a Senior Data-Scientist, you will:

  • Working with partners to translate business challenges into Data Science problems

  • Data mining and extracting information in PayPal’s Big Data environment

  • Analyzing various kinds of data and concluding actionable insights

  • Independent research and innovation in new content and technological domains, while supporting existing projects

  • Broadening the analytic playing field by using a wide range of research tools and methods, including applying scientific knowledge

  • Masters, PhD, or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, etc.)

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.

  • Code writing capability in any programming language (Python, R, Java, Scala, etc.) and familiarity with relevant ML packages.

  • Hadoop experience (MapReduce, PIG, Hive, Spark) – an advantage

  • Excellent spoken and written English

  • Team worker, responsible, delivery-oriented
