The Senior Database Analyst maintains, administers, and supports HKIS’ student information systems (SIS) and back office information systems. S/he is responsible for installing and configuring software, optimizing the system database design, diagnosing performance issues, and customizing/developing software modules and web applications. S/he will evaluate new tools and technologies, analyze user needs, and advise findings and recommendations to the IT Manager and Team Lead. The DBA will train users on new system functions and reports. S/he will look at the school’s data and databases holistically to recommend how best to improve data flow and efficiency. With direction from the IT Manager and Team Lead, the DBA will also need to work with vendors and consultants to ensure sufficient support is provided to meet the project scope and requirements of new projects or new enhancements to systems. S/he will need to perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

• Graduate degree in Computer Science or related field;
• 3 or more years of practical in-depth experience with Oracle 11g/12c and MS SQL 2005-2016 ;
• Experience with building reports on MS Reporting Services 2008 R2 and higher;
• Experience in managing technical project time lines and goals;
• Experience in designing and implementing database application solutions;
• Experience in creating system and database mapping documentation;
• Organized and detail-oriented;
• Good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Solid English communication skills, verbal and written. Cantonese and Mandarin are also an advantage.
