Based at Hebburn near Newcastle the successful candidate will be in a Senior Engineering role with the responsibility for helping upgrade existing infrastructure using Siemens latest portfolio of protection and control to ensure future sustainability for T&D network. Siemens Digital Grid have recently secured a position on the National Grid 5 Year Light Current Framework, resiliently providing robust systems with the latest Siemens technology on new National Grid substations and extending the existing infrastructure. A safer and lower carbon project delivery footprint will be adopted. Siemens latest portfolio of protection and control devices ensure future sustainability for T&D network, modernising digital initiatives including process bus, digital twin, and cyber security for the future. You will successfully deliver; Transmission & Distribution protection and control systems with our end-customers from various domains & disciplines. You will provide pre-sales support to our sales and proposal teams and support the project manager and commercial team to deliver projects on target and within scope. Read on As our Senior Design Engineer, you will: - Provide innovative solutions as technical lead for protection and control on UK Transmission and Distribution network. - Ensure that Siemens solutions are compliant with the latest policies and standards. - Provide a high level of customer service to clients and maintain the highest standards of quality. - Follow all Health & Safety requirements. - Sound problem solving skills, fault finding skills and analytical thinking. - Provide technical input for Sales and Proposals departments. We are looking for super minds, not superheroes. Experience of National Grid delivery and specifications / standards are important. A minimum qualification of HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering plus at least 5 years’ experience in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Industry. We encourage mobile working policy where appropriate, it is advantageous but not vital for the role to be predominantly based in Hebburn. Some travel to customer sites will be required from time to time. Whilst this role has no requirement for line management, it would be expected to provide mentoring of other team members. It would be an advantage but not crucial to have experience in: - Development and configuration of engineering protection & control solutions - Carry out FAT activities We’ve got quite a lot to offer.
