KEY RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY:
We have the ideal opportunity for an experienced Senior Director for Business Development in the US and seek someone with existing relationships and strong interpersonal communication skills. Account planning and strategic analysis are important aspects of the position, with a strong knowledge of the market, along with exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to close sales. The ideal candidate has experience researching solidifying relationships and using proven methods to grow usage of our services and solutions to targeted users. Our market focus for this role is the Transportation Infrastructure (Road, Rail, Cities), and the Industrial (Oil/Gas/Chemical) market where we sell both to the Asset Owners as well as the Engineering/Construction firms that provide construction services for this marketplace.
Reporting to the CEO and leading the North American business development team, you will be responsible for creating a culture of success, productivity and effectiveness, being an essential leader in a young and quickly developing organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a small Business Development team, and lead by example for the business that you can generate.
- Research existing accounts in targeted markets, pursue leads, and follow through to a successful agreement.
- Develop and execute an effective field sales strategy and plan and build a strong pipeline through prospecting and lead generation.
- Understand target clients' business needs, deliver presentations and demonstrations, and develop proposals.
- Perform ROI exercises and articulate our value proposition through all steps of the sales cycle.
- Maintain relationships with current users and identify and build relationships with new prospects
- Develop potential future partnerships.
- Update and maintain prospect and existing account opportunity data for pipeline reporting in Sales CRM/System.
- Collaborate with our product, user, and operations teams to ensure deployments are successful with a high level of client satisfaction while providing an excellent transfer of client and market knowledge.
- Collaborate with marketing on marketing strategy and tactics for prospecting and account-based marketing.
- Participate in the Management Team to develop the longer-term strategy of the company
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:
- Five years of successful software sales/business development experience.
- Established relationships within Transportation Owners and Engineering firms.
- Knowledge of Digital Transformation in Construction within the Transportation Industry.
- Affinity with Project Lifecycle Management, from Design to Construction, to Infrastructure Asset Management, and the use of 4D tools and planning.
- As a master in consultative selling, you are used to analyzing complex requirements, tailoring answers to user needs, advising on business case development, and managing the entire sales process and negotiating offers.
- Proven ability to negotiate at C-level.
- Highly organized, can work very independently as a part of a global team, and are used to regular forecasting and reporting.
- You have a strong sense of urgency.
- You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and changing environment.
- You have strong written and oral communication skills including presentation skills
- You are proficient with presentation tools, Sales CRM, and Microsoft 365 tools.
- You have a real entrepreneurial mindset, you are self-driven, passionate and you love to work independently, while being a strong team player who is willing to pitch in to assist in any situation, to the benefit of DCW and our users.
- You have a magnetic, positive attitude and demeanor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Broad general knowledge of the technology industry, in particular the construction industry.
- Deep understand of the business of the AEC industry and the types of infrastructure projects contained.
- Thorough knowledge and on-going awareness of current sales techniques and practices.
- Advanced skills in strategic business management, innovative and visionary planning and implementation, analysis and informed decision making, coaching and leadership, communications and customer relations.
- Ability to travel
- Ability to meet deadlines and sales targets.
- Degree in a technical discipline from an accredited institution as well as an advanced business degree (MBA) or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of executive sales leadership experience in a business-to-business sales environment.
- Experience successfully managing analytically rigorous corporate initiatives.
