The Senior Director, Enterprise Analytics will function as a senior corporate leader applying broad analytical expertise and project management best practices to ensure all enterprise reporting, warehousing, and analytical programs provide the best service and delivery possible. This role will directly manage our traditional Business Intelligence teams as well as the teams and technology around our corporate data warehousing. As a leader providing technology direction and vison, they will coordinate across a diverse operations landscape to provide continuous improvement, new project integration and excellence in stability for the entire BI and Analytics landscape. This position will report to our Chief Data Officer for general direction and guidance.
Location: Global headquarters in Exton, PA.
Responsibilities
- Design, maintain and enhance a scalable, highly available, fault tolerant, secure infrastructure for the Data Warehouse, BI and ETL platforms that meet business needs
- Lead the overall architecture, design and development of Enterprise Data Warehouse from business requirements to development of logical design, translation to physical design, cubes, ETL and report development
- Manage day-to-day operations of the BI environment
- Lead the creation and implementation of data modeling, design and standards for the enterprise.
- Develop master data management strategy. Maintain complete and accurate metadata for source systems, data warehouse and data marts
- Maintain Data dictionaries for source systems, data warehouse and data marts
- Create enterprise policies, guidelines and processes for governing data and metadata
- Identify and analyze source data (both internal and external) that is necessary to fulfill business intelligence needs
- Ensure data warehouse and BI security roles and policies.
- Provide oversight for database & server performance including recommendations for database performance and tuning, backup and disaster recovery
- Ensure system up time and performance across multiple globally distributed analytics platform
- Manage a small team comprised of data integration, ETL and report developers
- Work closely with the management and various business stakeholders in defining business requirements and shaping the long-term direction of the Business Intelligence program.
- Coordinate with analytics talent pools outside of the data architecture team, facilitate cross training and innovation
- Collaborate with staff in selecting, introducing and integrating new analytics/data tools into the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelors/Advanced degree in business or STEM field.
- 5+ years of experience architecting, building and scaling Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing solutions.
- 2+ years leading a Business Intelligence team consisting of data warehouse and reporting teams
- Extensive experience with business intelligence tools, designing, reporting and delivering analytic solutions, data management and warehousing, and the strategic use of information.
- Expertise in the fields of data quality, data profiling, data security and master data concepts.
- Expertise in using databases, data modeling tools and ETL tools.
- Solid understanding of key BI trends including data lakes, big-data ecosystem, and cloud based platforms
- Experience delivering software or online solutions in global enterprise environments.
- Experience leading and effectively managing a complex platform that is highly reliable and scalable
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment, as well as in cross-functional teams
- High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing projects and priorities simultaneously
- Ability to think strategically, execute methodically, understand and translate business requirements into technical requirements
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills that will enable earning of trust at all levels
Desired
- Experience with Qlik View or Qlik Sense
- Experience with cloud technology, specifically Azure or AWS
- Experience with SAP CRM, SAP BW, SAP ERP, SAP Cloud 4 Sales, Hybris
- Expertise with Microsoft technology, specifically SQL Server and SQL Azure, and Azure Data Warehouse
- Expertise in big data analytics and reporting
- MBA or Master’s degree
