Job Description

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This individual can be based in APAC, including India, Hong Kong, Singapore

The APAC Senior Operations Director provides leadership across a large organization to enable a project management team to implement language solutions to clients that maximize revenue potential, utilization, and productivity resulting in excellent customer satisfaction. Applies significant leadership and business expertise in providing strategic and tactical direction across his/her organization provides leadership through alignment of production teams across the region. The position requires strong leadership skills, planning skills, the ability to motivate teams and execute plans to financial and strategic objectives. The position is APAC based (Hong Kong, Japan, China, Korea, India) reports to SVP of Operations[TG1] .

  • Drive, coordinate and deliver strategic and tactical projects across the RI platforms
  • Ensure all work follows all the approved processes and meets RWS quality standards
  • Focus on projects that will improve processes and workflows, utilise energy and time efficiently, save or reduce costs
  • Ensure that the stakeholders and contributors are aligned with the goals and project plans
  • Resource Management – manage the assignment of resources
  • Accountable for the planning and definition of milestones on Strategic Projects and Initiatives
  • Performance Measurement - ensure key Project performance measures and metrics are established and monitored (Time and budget)
  • Motivate contributors and stay focused on the ultimate goals to meet requirements and secure delivery
  • Prepare and produce Data analytics on a regular basis
  • Manage and improve service management metrics and Best Practices
  • Monitor Sales forecast and strategy
  • Work closely with Supply Chain, Language Delivery and Engineering departments to ensure successful delivery of work
  • Exercise sound judgment in keeping your manager informed of potential difficulties such as issues affecting cost and turn-around
  • Carry out risk assessments
  • Ensure that within the team all work is assigned and completed on time, at appropriate profit levels and within budget
  • Provide support for Sales in relation to existing and new business
  • Work as a bridge between Sales and Operations to implement new opportunities
  • Monitor, manage and escalate complaints
  • Continually identify areas of efficiency and implement strategies to improve processes
  • Organise and monitor resource needs and escalate where appropriate
  • Manage teams’, monitor teams’ capacity and escalate issues
  • Manage teams’ holidays, sickness, absence, discipline and appraisals
  • Identify Teams’ training requirements and action as required

  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree level (BA, BS) in Languages or Translation and/or Interpretation or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated success in a Managerial position (minimum 4 years’ experience) with strong focus on service delivery
  • Proven success as demonstrated through quantifiable service improvement result
  • Proven effective relationships with clients, IT, Operations, Sales and external vendors
  • Excellent written and spoken skills in English (plus preferred one or more additional languages)
  • Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat, html, xml)
