Our location in Kansas City, Missouri currently has an opportunity for a Senior Director, Site Operations.

Purpose is to provide Operations leadership to the Toxicology Workplace organization, spanning multiple sites / geographies and a breadth of operational functions / complexity within that team. The Workplace Operations team is directly responsible for meeting Customer Experience targets in a highly transactional / highly skilled operations setting.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Responsible for complex, diverse service-oriented operations teams including Drug and Alcohol Testing, Occupational Health, Frontline Customer Experience Team, Construction Site EHS, Medical Review, Regulatory and Compliance Programs, Strategic Initiatives / Project Management
• Provides operations leadership supporting a $300MM business for Abbott (annually)
• Expected to identify and drive delivery of cost reductions on the order of $4MM per year through operational efficiencies and optimization
• Directly responsible for 2 US sites, 10 direct reports with a span of control of 320 employees / contractors within that organization
• Indirectly responsible for the Tox employees in Manila, Philippines that support Workplace with include an additional 360 employees / contractors 
   

Core Job Responsibilities:

• Establish multi-year, strategic objectives for the team
• Devise, install, monitor, and improve a suite of metrics that define team performance over a broad range of operational focus groups
• Multi-site direct line management, global indirect line management of teams supporting the above
• Be the primary voice of Abbott performance and partnership to external customers (from an Operations perspective)
• Influence and ensure Operations strategy is in line with needs of / supporting broader Workplace organization
• Personnel performance and management
• Establishing a continuous improvement / execution focused culture within all layers of the organization
• Establish and control budgets across all groups in the team, devise targets / path / deliver cost savings programs
• Establish and manage a quality / compliance program applicable to the service industry, in line with Abbott corporate requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

• Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s program preferred.
• 15+ years of experience required.
• Extensive leadership experience required.
• Extensive multi-functional operations experience required.
• Transactional operations in a service-oriented industry required.
