We are searching for a strategic Talent Acquisition APAC Leader to partner with regional Business and HR leaders and Corporate COE HR leaders to proactively and pragmatically develop, implement and drive the talent acquisition strategies and solutions required to achieve our Regional short and long-term business objectives.
What you’ll do
You will ensure that successful talent acquisition strategies are developed and executed by leading a team across multiple countries in the APAC region and interfacing with global TA colleagues and COEs, all dedicated to bringing world class talent acquisition solutions to the business.
Build on our diverse employee base through the expansion of our purposeful brand, establish the APAC TA team as a strategic partner during a time of growth, refine existing Talent Acquisition (TA) processes, and lead the TA team through change skill expansion.
How You'll Make a Difference
Develop an integrated, business-oriented and strategic approach to Talent Acquisition:
- In alignment with the Talent COE, establish Regions’ overall talent acquisition strategy, approach and appropriate systems, processes and metrics to build an enduring, deep and diverse pipeline of future leaders and increase mobility of exceptional talent for the company across group/division, country and functional boundaries.
- Partner with the COE and Country HR colleagues to actively support hiring of structured internship and undergraduate and graduate leadership programs to build early career talent pipelines.
- Identify, prioritize, and deploy current and future talent needs for the operations and execution of the APAC TA team.
- Design and execute effective recruitment processes, practices, and standards that provide high-quality experiences for candidates and hiring managers.
- Advise, partner, and influence key leaders by understanding trends, business needs, and talent required to deliver solutions that result in positive business outcomes.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with Hiring Managers, HR Business Partners, TA Business Partners, Group Talent Leaders and Group Rewards Partners to understand and fulfill hiring needs, including recruiting, employment branding, interview training, candidate experience, and more.
Introduce new and/or improved methodologies for attracting, assessing, and selecting the best leadership talent:
- Lead, mentor and develop the APAC TA team through goal review, development plans, talent reviews and regular management activities.
- Leverage tools and process created in the Talent Acquisition COE to attract, build, communicate and actively support Regions’ hiring plans to systematically and proactively plan for hiring requirements to achieve short and long-term business objectives.
- Leads APAC TA team to drive alignment and leverage Thermo Fisher programs and initiatives across the Regions. Identifies and prioritizes region and country-specific needs and spend and develops and implements talent acquisition solutions and interventions.
- Apply data, metrics, and analysis to leadership approach and decision-making for TA delivery to monitor and continuously improve performance, efficiency, and capability.
- Embrace Colleague referrals & Diversity & Inclusion initiatives and build upon existing multi-channel sourcing of passive and active candidates across the full-range and levels of roles
- Identify future leadership talent needs and develop talent pools and social engagement by collaborating across the global organization

As a Senior Director, TA APAC, you’ll contribute your opinions and influence leaders and recruiters with your knowledge, credibility, and expertise. Because you’ll be working with sophisticated, diverse business leaders, advanced communication, and influencing skills will be critical assets. Key traits include flexibility to lead by example and willingness to roll up your sleeves when needed as the TA vision unfolds.
Minimum Requirements:
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant business experience
Experience
- Min 10+ years of innovative full-cycle talent acquisition experience in large complex organizations or Multi-national Corporations including a minimum of 3 years’ living and leading TA organization in Asia including China.
- Experience leading, developing and managing a team of people leaders in a highly matrix organization
- Significant experience in managing multiple tasks and projects within TA as well as complex project management knowledge and skills
- Strong business acumen with the ability to link talent acquisition priorities to key business initiatives and ensure any TA investment or spend is targeted towards initiatives with highest return on investment.
- Strong development, execution, and implementation skills with the ability to successfully develop talent acquisition programs and move strategy to action
- Demonstrated success as a change agent for organizational transformation and continuous improvement efforts.
- Proven experience in developing strong relationships and in successfully interfacing and negotiating with all organizational levels

- Superior analytical and problem solving skills evidencing the ability to think and act strategically
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and ruthlessly prioritize needs and operational plans to accommodate a broad range of stakeholders and responsibilities
- Ability to travel up to 25% across the region.
- Fluent in Mandarin for effective communication with key stakeholders and customers and especially in markets which require.
