Job Description
Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services and Systems division is currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. This position can be based at Warrendale, PA or Mountainside, NJ. This role offers a Hybrid weekly schedule, 3 days in the office 2 days work from home! The purpose of this position is to provide design engineering services instrumental to the completion of major electrical projects. The Senior Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for assisting with design deliverables to maintain project schedule, design budget, design accuracy, and submittal completeness working in concert with a broader project team. The Design Engineer will gain valuable experience by working under the supervision of a more experienced senior engineer. Skills to produce the following: Equipment Specifications Single line drawings Three-line drawings Schematics Wiring/Interconnection diagrams Conduit/cable plans AC/DC Control power drawings SCADA Grounding drawings/details Equipment Testing Procedures Qualifications Basic Qualifications: BS in electrical engineering from an accredited institution Minimum of three (3) years of design experience Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship Must reside within a 50 mile radius of the work location(s) listed on the posting. No relocation is being offered for this role. Preferred Qualifications: Five (5) years of design experience EIT or PE License Field experience in testing/commissioning medium voltage equipment Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, Bluebeam, ProjectWise. Position criteria for this role include: Successfully complete and maintain compliance with Eaton's safety program and policies Submit to periodic drug and background screens for compliance with customer entrance requirements in order to perform on-site work Knowledge/exposure to LV and MV equipment ranging from 480V – 138kV Ability to maintain schedule and budget Ability to work with remote team of engineers Obtain mentoring from senior engineers Assist in engineering estimates to develop scope, budget, and review technical documents Knowledge and understanding of turnkey projects Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation Excellent written and verbal communication skills Working knowledge of NEC, NESC, ANSI, IEEE Periodic travel to sites during construction/commissioning Eaton considers qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with local laws.
