This position is based at our hybrid Raleigh, NC facility or can be based remotely. All candidates must currently reside within the United States and must work out of a United States remote location. The Senior Embedded Software Engineer is primarily responsible for developing embedded software for CPDI power conversion products (UPS, Energy Storage products) and technology development projects. The senior engineer will own feature design, development, unit testing and support validation. Projects include developing software for proof-of-concept technology demonstrators, new products, new features, and bug fixes. In this function you will: Collaborate with global engineering teams in the development, test, and release of embedded Linux software for CPDI product lines and technology development projects. Evaluate business requirements to determine potential solutions. Own design and development of product features. Write and maintain functional specifications of design solutions. Develop software that meets coding standards and product design requirements. Document and formally release embedded software following company procedures. Develop test plans and monitor test results. Lead software and functional design reviews at various product development stages. Keep track of latest embedded software strategies, processes, and tools. Apply knowledge to power electronic applications. OR Master's Degree in Electrical or related Engineering degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of two (2) years industry work experience in embedded software development. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of two (2) years experience on C/C++ application development. Experience with Yocto build environment. Experience with multi-core embedded systems. Solid understanding of cybersecurity and/or cryptography. Demonstrated competency using or designing systems communicating with industrial networking protocols (e.g. HTTP, TCP/IP, MQTT, Modbus, BACnet, CAN). Experience using SDLC management tools in a team environment (e.g. Jira, Git, etc.). Experience with Agile development methodologies and concepts.
