Eaton’s Commercial and Residential Division is currently seeking a Senior Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Moon Township, PA facility. Hybrid Role: 3 days in office/2 days at home Position Overview: The VA/VE Project Engineer’s primary responsibility is to drive projects that result in product and productivity cost improvements by utilizing VA/VE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering) methodologies, which focus on improving both existing product lines and new designs as a control for escalating material and labor costs, or improving product margins, while maintaining product integrity. Product focus is on the development of electrical devices and associated electro-mechanical components. This role requires strong ideation skills and the ability to simultaneously program manage multiple projects across multinational sites. The position will require facilitation of Value Analysis events to generate a pipeline of ideas and subsequent execution. The person in this role should be a strong communicator who is able to work effectively with peers and management alike in a high paced environment. This role will also require leadership in leading and managing VAVE projects through the VAVE Pro-Launch process. Maintaining a cadence for gate reviews with all MCB facilities and ensuring compliance to all PL requirements. Monthly reporting on MCB VA & VE financial impacts to finance. In this function you will: Drive product development of circuit protection devices using ProLaunch, ProPM and other project management tools Provide technical soundness of design decisions and product changes to facilitate optimal product performance, manufacturing process, reduce cost, improve quality, and accommodate special customer needs. Use CAD, simulation, and other design tools to develop new products Prevent and correct product performance issues Plan and execute design strategies to optimize product performance and manufacturability Review, control, and maintenance of the product lifecycle management system (Drawings, BOMs). Responsible to update, generate reports according to engineering and customers’ requirement Work with manufacturing plants on plans, processes and strategies to accomplish a trouble-free introduction of products into manufacturing. Evaluate needed capital for product development projects. Define product testing and evaluate performance levels according to requirements Interface with test lab team and other engineering teams to evaluate and resolve product issues in the field. Interface with manufacturing and quality assurance personnel in establishing quality requirements and process controls for circuit breaker components, sub-assemblies, and final products. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution Three (3) years of experience in product design Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship Relocation Assistance will be provided for candidates that reside outside of a 50-mile radius of Moon Township, PA.
