As a Senior Engineer, ABB's High Voltage Products team provides products which help enhance the safety, reliability and efficiency of power networks while minimizing environmental impact. Our technology leadership continues to facilitate developments in areas such as ultra-high-voltage power transmission, enabling smart grids and enhancing eco-efficiency. You will contribute significantly to successful project results in projects in Instrument Transformers Product Group/ High Voltage Products Business Line/ Power Grids Business in Suqian and Beijing/China country/NAS region. You will work independently while collaborating with, and providing guidance to, the wider R&D team.

Your responsibilities

• Have the overall responsibility for technical solution and design new products and optimization in R&D projects in good co-operation with internal and external stakeholders. The responsibilities include technical solution, feasibility study, IP related, documentation, prototype, and verification and type tests etc.

• Leading and coordinate internal and external resources to qualify product as per marketing requirement within budget and requirement specification.
• Identify and manage technical risks taking preventive/corrective actions to resolve any quality/technical solution issues, report any outstanding issues to management, along with recommendations for resolution.
• Collaborate with the Supply Chain function to ensure that product could be sourced and reasonably ordered. Provide technical evaluation of supplier proposals in respect to product cost, manufacturing procedure and qualify control.
• Use standard processes and tools applied in R&D, update and report frequently and correctly, and manage related stakeholders.

Your background

• Bachelor’s Degree and major in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of work experience from R&D, Project Management, better with HV background.
• Multi-national company working experience is preferred.
• Expertise in MS Project, Professional level ability with MS Office tools.
• Open Mind and have cooperation spirit.
• Fluent in oral and written English.
