Job Summary 'Primary function '• The primary responsibility of this role is to Lead design and develop performance on Clutch Components and systems to meet customer specific technical, cost and market related technology requirement of Commercial, Industrial & Passenger car applications. The applicant should have hands on experience on Clutch application and duty cycle across regions. The applicant should have strategic thought on supporting business growth across regions. • Applicant shall have experience in design, development and validation of Clutch components and systems for automotive and industrial OEMs. Applicant must be proficient with performing analytical design calculations, good understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack up analysis and manufacturing methods involving casting, forging and sheet-metal components. Candidate should have knowledge of automotive market, technology trends in vehicle dynamics, emission regulations and applicable standards. Candidate should be able to participate in defining engineering requirements by understanding customer voice and application. The candidate must be self-motivated and possess good communication skills with cross functional team namely engineering, manufacturing, project management, marketing and supply chain. • Applicant should demonstrate the passion on Contribution towards intellectual property (Patents and disclosures) and lead ideation sessions coordinating with cross functional team. Job Responsibilities 'Main Function Capturing customer voice, Planning milestones, Executing milestones, Conducting technical and project Reviews, Communication and On job development through technical mentoring to project team Performs complex engineering assignments, involving product design, testing and preparation of specifications, process studies, or research investigations using appropriate tools and techniques Execute proto-type build, performance / durability testing, teardown of proto-type samples to evaluate product performance against customer requirements for concept level ideas as well as detailed design before product launch Utilize DFSS concepts / tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR for new product development &/or existing product improvements and drive NPI efficacy in projects and team Creates, and sustains process for design standards and procedures governing product design methods, documents and data control for the associated business group Drives PRO-Launch execution for NPI programs with work package approvals, engineering management plan and attaining all engineering deliverables per activity matrix Utilizes understanding of manufacturing processes to improve new and existing designs & acts as a technical resource for internal / external customers and resolves technical challenges Maintain credible communication practice with external customer on technical clarifications, testing & resolving of field failures Positively influence cross functional team for successful execution of product design across all stages of product development process per PRO-Launch. Champion continuous capability and process improvements to support the Eaton Business System Qualifications Qualifications Education level required: •BE/ME/MTech/MS in Mechanical /Automobile Engineering (IIT /NIT or any other reputed college will be added advantage). Years and area of experience required: •BE / BTech :7-9 yrs. ; ME/ MTech : 5-7 yrs. of experience in engineering/product design. Technical knowledge: 'Proven track record in engineering Design, Analysis, R&D, Application Engineering domain Knowledge about Engine performance, powertrain integration and vehicle dynamics Hands on experience in maturing the product from concept to production by leading engineering/R&D activities Experience in navigating projects having significant amount of design ambiguity/complexity and meet the design requirements thru innovation Experience in CR/CO processes in Enovia, problem solving tools and their applications Excellent English communication (oral and written) and presentation skills Team player with highly effective interpersonal and collaboration skills Soft skills: 'Good verbal and written communication skills; Team player with highly effective interpersonal skills; Experience in handling direct / indirect project leadership role What you will get from us Eaton’s mission is to improve the quality of life and the environment through the use of power management technologies and services.
