This exciting role offers opportunity to: Eaton’s Center for Sustainability is looking for highly motivated indivisuals who is passionate about enviornmental accounting and has strong inclination towards Sustanability domain. The Engineer will be providing technical and strategic support for compliance (chemical regulations), life cycle assessment (LCA) and design for environment for Eaton’s broad portfolio of electrical products. Execute independently detailed Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies as per ISO 14040 & 14044 to evaluate environmental impacts of Eaton electrical products followed by 3rd party verification to publish type-III Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) Support the product engineering teams on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions associated with the electrical product’s lifecycle. Contribute in developing eco-design tools and their implementation during new product introduction process. Compliance to affecting eco-design-related regulations (e.g. EU-ErP Directive) Monitor progress and achievements on projects & provide regular reports on development and support activities. Lead Design-For-Environment activities in PROLaunch environment for runner and minor repeater projects Understand customer requirements and communicate them to other Eaton teams, and act as the liaison for program activities as appropriate Interact with key customers/stakeholders in understanding current & upcoming sustainability trends and their relevance to our products Responsible for guiding a junior team of engineers in the Eco-design domain Champions continuous process improvements to support the Eaton Business System; CI, Employee Survey, DfX & Agile PROLaunch, Agile Start etc. Qualifications Requirement: Bachelors or Masters' degree in Enviornmental science or Chemical/Mechanical/ Electronics /Electricals engineering Demonstrates LCA execution using modeling software like EIME (preferably), Simapro, Gabi and contributes to Eaton’s efforts on GHG baselining & product emission reduction strategies for electrical products with focus on to – Understands Product Category Rules/ Product Specific Rules Defines goal & scope of the study & working closely with product teams to get the required Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) data Develops modular LCA’s & creating library of Eaton standard components & processes Analyses the hot-sports and provide recommendations Communicate these impacts through publishing EPD’s through PEP Eco passport or other program operators Demonstrates analytical skills in developing & deployment of Eco-design tools through Eaton’s PROLounch NPI process with focus on to – Develops & deploys tools and methods to quantify circularity (recyclability, re-usability, durability and disassembly) of products Develops the methods, tools and contribute to improve product circularity (“Design for Circularity”) Understands requirements related to eco-design regulations (like ErP regulations) and work with product teams to ensure compliance while releasing new products Yes!
