This exciting role offers opportunity to: This position is part of Skunkworks team focusing on fast paced innovation across Electrification, Energy Transition, Digitilization & Regional Growth. Team will work on product & technology development of Power Electronics devices such as On-Board & Off-board Chargers, UPS Inverters, Power Converters & Traction Inverters. Team is expected to have significant interactions with senior leadership & cross functional team to mature projects from idea to proof of concept stage demonstrating value proposition. Incumbent will be working on designing, developing and testing power electronics platforms and systems for power distribution applications involving analog and digital electronics, micro-processors/controllers, DSP’s, gate drivers, sensor interfaces and SMPS etc. Some of the functions of this role include: Optimization studies of different topologies with respect to losses, device sizing and selection. Should handle hardware system design including end to end product development involving complex analog & digital circuit design with 16/32 /64 bit microcontrollers based designs Collaborate with mechanical, layout, and firmware engineers to successfully develop and validate the hardware designs Should be able to work on digital Communication protocols like CAN, RS232, SPI, I2C etc Ability to Analyze and predict design performance using Simulation tools, Analytical Skills etc Lead discussions with suppliers / Manufacturing plant on hardware / prototype development Develop a innovation problem statement by comparing current state-of-the-art power electronic devices / technologies for BEV applications (Ex: Power density vs cost) Design Power Conveter Topologies involving analog and digital electronics circuits Modeling, simulation and analysis experience with tools like Matlab/Simulink, SPICE, PSIM tools Optimize hardware design for energy efficiency and various performance strategies using virtual simulation tools and downselects few for MVP hardware trials Define and execute incremental innovation in Inverter & Converter topologies, Switching methods, Isolation design and Circuit protection for high voltages. Define archtiectures with EMI / EMC active filtering and select power electronic components in tune with the requirements Define and create architectures for CAN and high speed data exchange, input & output configurations to various control hardware requirements Define and execute design solutions that meets reliability, funcational safety (ISO 26262) and applicable standards per customer & regional requirements Collaborate with project Lead and program manager for sprints and integration with overall project milestones, responsible to bring up issues and potential resolutions Practice key principles of Automotive standards from ASPICE, ISO 26262 and various IEC standards for compliance and quality management Generate a disntinctive potential IP / differentiated value / competitive advantage and champion disciplined experimentation for product conversion Qualifications Requirement: Master’s in Electrical / Electronics / Embedded Controls 3+ years of Automotive EV product development from concept - proto - validation, integration, production & post launch field issues resolution AC - DC / DC - DC power converter, inverter design experience Tools: PSpice, LT Spice, MATLAB/Simulink, Simetrix, PSIM/SABER Standads: ISO 26262, IEC, ASPICE, DFSS, FMEDA, FMECA, Reliability Clarity of thought in a highly demanding fast-pace technological innovation ambience.
