Duties:
The appointee will work on the development of functional PVD coatings on various substrates. He/she will work in a dynamic and efficient team which is responsible for R&D work, including experimental design, laboratory equipment operation, sample preparation, properties characterization, data analysis, performance testing, drafting proposals / meeting slides / reports / SOP / IP documents, in the following areas:

• Designing and optimization on the coating formulation and PVD parameters, characterization on the properties of PVD coatings;
• Incubating idea to explore the opportunity of cooperation with industry partners;
• Scaling up process for trial production; and
• Performing other duties assigned by supervisor.
   

Requirements:

• Master or PhD in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Material Science/Engineering or related disciplines;
• Solid experiences on physical vapor deposition (PVD);
• Experiences on characterization of mechanical properties;
• Experiences on surface treatment and coating technologies will be an advantage;
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese;
• Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, ability of literature and patent review are needed;
• Work independently and able to communicate in teamwork; and
• Candidates with more experience will be considered as Senior Engineers.
