Position: BMS Systems Application Engineer, Embedded Systems

 

Description: As ADI increases its focus in system solutions for electric vehicle, the Automotive Electrification group is looking for a skilled system applications engineer with a focus on embedded software based in the Dallas area.   A systems application engineer in the area of automotive battery management helps bring state of the art battery monitoring and control systems to market in electrified vehicles worldwide.  Some of the key work to drive this effort includes writing embedded system code, working with OEMs and T1s to integrate solutions, systems analysis and modelling, software and hardware performance validation in the lab,.  This position calls on a wide range of skills in the software and hardware domain as well as communication skills for interacting with customers and a broad development team.  Given the complexity of the products, this role offers a wide range of opportunity for technical growth.

 

 

Job Duties:

  • Contribue to technical aspects of the early OEM and Tier1s engagement. Understands, develops, and provides solution to customer requirements with a focus on embedded software.
  • Help develop hardware & software prototypes for these early engagements in a team environment.
  • Drive strategy to verify and test customer scenarios and system use cases to ensure functionality and performance of system solution for automotive applications.
  • Provides feedback to the system architecture team on system design gaps or weakness and provides inputs to next generation product definition.
  • Work closely with Field Application Engineers and cross functional teams to clarify customer needs and guide new product requirements
  • Create system level collateral to assist customers to design-in ADI system solutions, specifically documentation, with clear inputs for software and hardware tools.

 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in electronic engineering, Master’s degree preferred
  • Strong background in Embedded Programming (C/C++), Embedded Processors and python scripting.
  • Track record in system analysis, design, debug and evaluation.
  • Experience in automotive customer engagement is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of Battery Management Systems application is an advantage.
  • Motivated, results oriented and creative problem solver with excellent writing, presentation and overall communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to learn something new quickly.
  • Comfortable taking calculated risks.
  • Has a bias for action and works in collaboration with others to deliver results.
  • High tolerance for ambiguity.
