Job Description
The purpose of the RPA Developer role is to manage the delivery of RPA Use cases in alignment to the demand from across IT and Business areas.
About RPA:
Robotic Process Automation Function own the strategy & support of our Shared Service platform (RPA Tool - Automation Anywhere) which is used to support IT, HR and Finance and there are great opportunities to leverage the capability to introduce efficient processes, workflow, features and functionality to improve further services to our customers. We work closely with Automation Anywhere to develop solutions and prioritise the introduction of new features and services to transform our IT services for our customers within AstraZeneca, enabling all areas of our business. We maintain the Control Room and associated License for AstraZeneca.
High-Level Function Overview
The Robotic Process Automation Function are responsible for:
- Managing all IT activities associated with the delivery of RPA Use Cases. Partners with Business and Customer Facing IT to mobilise and deploy BOTS.
- Partnership with CFIT Development RPA team & deliver business process automation
- Ensure the RPA Control Room & Clients are Available, Reliable and continuous for the business
- Ensure the platform is secured. Access controls are maintained and managed as per GXP and SOX guideline, provide evidence to Audit
- Ensure the license allocation and usage across the RPA platform
- Demand Delivery of client machines to support the Accelerate process
- Ensure the RPA Platform is uplifted, patching cycles are aligned with the Automation Anywhere roadmaps
- Evaluate options to maximise the license and client utilisation by streamlining the process
- Release management of the BOT into production, and manage access and controls
Key Accountabilities
- End to End process assessment for Automation feasibility
- Design automation solutions for existing business processes. Assist in the definition of project scope, requirements and objectives involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Technical hands-on experience especially on Automation Anywhere Enterprise tool
- Exposure to Agile delivery methods. Support in creating and maintain documentation related to projects (eg. process mapping, business requirement, functional and technical specification, coding, design test script, test plan and go-live release notes etc.)
- Provides expertise to input into the PQD
- Supports the Process Analyst in completing documentation where necessary throughout the lifecycle
- Supports the Process Analyst in defining and designing the solution along with other relevant activities, such as go-live approval
- Configures the robot code, adhering to standards, modularisation, scalability and reuse of code
- Performs unit/functional testing, supports UAT and performs bot classification and validation
- Conducts compatibility testing between RPA software and target systems within the scope of the automation
- Peer reviews another configurator’ code
- Migrates code to production and performs migration testing
- Provides Hyper care, training and knowledge transfer to the Business Bot Controller & Bot Administrator Team
- Re-configures code when required by a Change Request
- Work together with RPA capability team in resolving any open issues during development and maintenance of the project. Solve and drive resolutions with the team to ensure reliable and operationally effective flow of the process, improve processes and increase efficiency.
- Think out of the box to identify workaround and re-design process
- If required should be willing to learn selected robotics tools for automating the process
- Supervise and report on the status of automation efforts.
Experience, Qualification, Skills, Certifications and Proficiencies
- The candidate must have experience with Automation Anywhere RPA tool, Reporting tools (Power BI, MicroStrategy) and MS Power Platform.
- Knowledge of anyone Technology Stack such as .Net/C#/ASP.net or Java/J2EE or Python
- Experience in implementing Software Robotics or automation projects using SDLC and Agile approaches
- Previous process assessment experience for End to End process automation
- Work with senior stakeholders to understand business requirement & needs to implement an automation solution
- Should be a self-starter and should have performed assessments independently with minimum support within the stringent timeline
- Good Client communication skill
- Knowledge of the basic elements of project management & planning
- Ability to work with cross-functional and regional team
- Previous experience in Process Re-engineering will be an asset
IT Experience (Preferable)
- Previous experience of working with IT developers for solution designing and implementation
- Previous experience of creating excel based macros
- Strong knowledge of Programming Knowledge
- Knowledge of System designing
- Knowledge of UAT/Testing
- A logical mind with keen analytical skills
- Clear and concise communicator, inborn written and verbal
- Ability to respond well to pressure
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across team boundaries.
Job Dimensions
- The position will report to the SSS RPA Manager
- The position will partner with RPA BOT Configurators in CFIT RPA Team
- The position will partner with multiple stakeholders within IT and AZ Business.
