Senior Engineer (Ref. 20090801-E3)
 
Duties

The appointee will join the Additive Manufacturing Stream and be required to:

(a) assist in formulating the Stream’s development strategies on the use of additive manufacturing technologies and participate in the Stream’s management;

(b) develop, lead and conduct teaching and hands-on learning subjects at degree and sub-degree levels including preparation of teaching materials and supervision of student projects;

(c) assist in teaching and learning programme design, development and administration;

(d) undertake R&D and consultancy activities; and

(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director, Industrial Centre or his delegates. 

Qualifications 

Applicants should have: 

(a) a recognised higher degree or degree in Biomedical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline plus not less than five years of solid Engineering and supervisory experience;

(b) industrial experience in product development or production engineering;

(c) solid experience in AM applications and proficient in 3D CAD modelling, i.e. Solidworks, Pro Engineer, and post processing technique;  

(d) the ability to handle projects independently and to work with people from different disciplines to undertake technical development projects;

(e) strong project management and leadership skills; and

(f) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, and preferably with fluency in Putonghua.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written language proficiency test.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed- term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
