As a Senior Engineer you will be responsible for Mechanical engineering design and analysis of advanced engine and powertrain concepts. The scope of responsibility is to conceptualize, architect, design, simulate, and to demonstrate technical feasibility of the system and prove customer value. Project responsibility will initially focus on advanced valve actuation strategies for internal combustion engines. Future projects will involve assessment of benefits of advanced concepts on engine and powertrain systems. Ideally, the candidate will have background knowledge of engines and a proven track record in mechanical design and development. Your key deliverables : Conceptualizes and designs state-of-the-art mechanical engineering designs and Powertrain concepts. Designs, coordinates simulation, sample built and rig tests. Generates a variety of solution options and performs trade-off analyses using both analytical and experimental resources. Formulates a concept’s critical design features perform risk assessment and executes the relevant tests to validate the design. Defines, plans, and executes all aspects of sample/ prototype control system development project including analysis, design, fabrication, assembly, and rig test. Oversees the installation of prototype on the engine and connection with vehicle control systems. Interacts with a variety of technical contributors including engineers, designers, and technicians to accomplish project objectives. Interacts with Valvetrain Product Engineering to accomplish project objectives. Clearly communicates project status to management both verbally and in writing. Qualifications Required: Bachelor´s degree of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university. 2 years of experience preferably within Internal Combustion engines design and development in industry. Good communication and presentation skills. Fluent in English Desired: Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university. Knowledge of another language (Italian, German, French) is desired.
