Job Description
(a) have bachelor’s degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent; majoring in business administration, marketing, public relations, social science, communication, journalism is an advantage;
(b) have at least four years’ post-qualification working experience in (i) event management / (ii) community relations / (iii) corporate communications; working experience in government bureaux/departments or sizable non-governmental organisations/public bodies, or in managing large-scale promotional events or forums is an advantage (Note 1);
(c) have met the language proficiency requirements of ‘Level 3’ (Note 2) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (“HKCEE”), or equivalent;
(d) have good command of oral and written English and Chinese, including Putonghua;
(e) have strong communication and interpersonal skills; and
(f) be proficient in computer use, in particular Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and Chinese word processing; knowledge on using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Window Movie-maker and other graphic design software is an advantage.

Duties:
Successful candidates will be deployed to sections/offices in the Works Branch of the Development Bureau to undertake the following duties (Notes 3 and 4) –
(a) to provide executive support to sections including liaison with bureaux/departments/local authorities/organisations; preparation of reports/papers; management of budget and documents; coordination of visit programmes/logistics, procurement of goods/services and other general administrative work;
(b) to provide executive support for the implementation of works policies including Greater Bay Area and Belt and Road Initiative;
(c) to provide executive support for the formulation and implementation of Buildability of building works;
(d) to provide executive support for the implementation of the works policy of Engineering and Associated Consultants Selection Board (EACSB) and Buildability review of civil engineering works; and
(e) to perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers.

Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for a period of one year. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need of the Works Branch of the Development Bureau and the candidate’s performance.
Fringe Benefits
A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period with consistently high standard of performance. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Government’s contribution to the Mandatory Provident Fund (“MPF”) Scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. The benefits in respect of rest days, statutory holidays (or substitute holidays), annual leave, maternity/paternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance and confirmed at the time of the offer of appointment.
