Responsibilities Include:

  • Owns the development, deployment and execution of a winning account strategy to maximize Analog Devices content and mindshare within the geographic account base
  • Be highly accountable to individual and team commitments and success.  The FSE ultimately runs the business in his/her territory, therefore a self-starter, entrepreneurial spirt is a must.
  • A key element of this role is the management of relationships at all levels within the customer.  Identifies key customer decision makers including at the executive, engineering, and supply management level
  • Manage and close sales opportunities through account strategy planning, forecasting, and account resource allocation
  • Needs to be comfortable with high-level business concepts as is often necessary for conversations with customer & ADI executives. 
  • Collaborate with internal Engineering resources and Business Unit Marketing teams to close designs and successfully help customer launch products to market
  • Utilize creative problem solving to assess and respond to customer needs including product requirements, decision criteria, roadblocks, timeline, budget, and competition.
  • The Field Sales Engineer must have sufficient electronics technology competence to discuss system level architectures as well as component level decisions and how these benefit the customer. 
  • Conduct face to face customer management meetings to provide support, address issues, communicate updates and build strong relationships
  • Negotiate and facilitate business issues/terms including pricing, contracts, and deliveries
  • Maintain awareness of major customer trends, industry developments, and competitive activity and share them with Sales, as well as Product and Marketing teams
  • The FSE will collaborate frequently with a Field Applications Engineer; therefore a track record of success in team environments is absolutely required
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the Toronto semiconductor marketplac

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • BSEE/BSCE, EET or equivalent experience
  • 5 - 10 years of related experience in a variety of sales environments, preferably a technical sales role
  • Prior electronics supplier sales experience would be beneficial
  • Must be self-motivated and possess strong communication skills
  • A entrepreneurial spirit, a resilient determination, and a customer-obsessed mindset are critical
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets and develop new business.
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Experience in direct sales and collaboration with channel partners preferred
  • Willing to travel up to 35%
  • Located in Ontario, preferably near the GTA.
