Position Summary A wide-ranging finance role, providing business partnering for senior staff within the South East Europe (“SEE”) region and responsible for financial reporting and control for Allergan Aesthetics in Romania, reporting to the Central and Eastern Europe (“CEE”) Region Associate Director, Finance (“AD”). Acting as a business partner to the local commercial team and providing support to the SEE Senior Finance Manager and the SEE Country Manager, the job holder will need to demonstrate commercial acumen, be able to challenge and make a real and positive contribution to the business. This will include working closely with commercial staff, consolidating information and presenting monthly results, forecasts and plans and other ad hoc projects to both the local and SEE Region management teams. Critical to the success of the role will be the job holder's ability to build positive working relationships where they can challenge and contribute as a "business-person" as well as a Finance practitioner. The job holder will be responsible for all financial control and accounting within Allergan Romania, working closely with the external accounting provider to ensure the integrity and accuracy of both local financial reporting and corporate reporting for the legal entity. The role will require working closely with both finance and commercial staff in the Region and throughout the business: the Accounting Provider in Romania and local external auditors, other finance staff within the CEE Region, the European Finance Shared Services Centre (“EFSSC”) in Westport Ireland, Area Finance in East Europe, Middle East and Africa (“EEMEA”) and other global functions, such as Treasury and Internal Audit. The employee must conduct their work activities in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and regulatory guidelines as well as all Abbvie policies and procedures. Financial Reporting and Control Liaison with and supervision of 3rd Party Accounting provider to ensure local statutory financial and tax accounting & reporting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and travel & expense processing services are provided as agreed. Ensure US GAAP and corporate accounting is done correctly. Sign-off of financial statements with particular attention to revenue recognition and inventory accounting. Ensure suitable controls are in place in the legal entity and that these are adhered to. This will include, but is not limited to: purchase invoice approval for services and goods, ensuring contracts exist, services have been rendered or goods received and other documentation; trade policies and procedures, verifying conditions for granting discounts and the existence of needed documents such as addendums to contracts and other financial documents required from the partners to prove compliance; sales price policies, ensuring that they are properly established and implemented, so that issued invoices to partners are listed correctly; adherence to group and local GAAP accounting requirements, including account mapping between local and US GAAP, depreciation and capital expenditure; specification of cost centres on each document according to budget / management responsibilities; Manage the payment process and bank accounts: approval of invoices to be paid by the external accounting provider within strict deadlines, transmission of information to group related to payments with supporting documents accompanying payments uploaded into the system, bank reporting to EFSSC (eg weekly bank account balance reports). Providing finance and/or induction training to non-Finance staff on request to ensure compliance, specifically on travel and entertaining; Provide other Ad-Hoc accounting and technical support as required to the Romanian Management Team and other staff. Other financial and government reporting, such as inventory and transfer price reporting. Financial Planning and Analysis Working closely with the Romanian Commercial managers, develop and load all financial and business planning activities, including Latest Business Estimates (“LBE”), Plan and Long-Range Plan (“LRP”) information for the Allergan Aesthetics (“AA”) P&L, including detailed sales and cost build-up within Romania; Work with the Romanian leadership team to prepare and present to SEE Region management the LBEs, Plans and LRP. This will require close co-operation with the Senior Finance Manager for Bulgaria and Serbia, who will be responsible for consolidating and presenting the Regional submissions; For Country submissions, challenge and evaluate all business projections and forecasts for accuracy, acceptability and conformance to strategic objectives, understand the underlying assumptions and the variability of key business drivers; With the Romanian Leadership team, identify risks and opportunities in achieving quarterly and full year objectives, including developing contingency plans and implementing actions to ensure divisional margin objectives are achieved; Provide Country and SEE Region Management with analytical commentary on results versus plan and LBE, highlighting trends and variances in both sales and costs, assisting management in the formulation of action plans to develop opportunities or correct deviations. Maintain and develop sales trending and reporting together with management of promotional and other variable budgets to support country and regional commercial teams. Business Partnering and Commercial Become a trusted business partner to the Romanian leadership team and the wider the SEE Region, providing effective management reporting, analysis and insights Provide support to the Romanian management team concerning day-to-day and ad hoc operational business issues Develop expense trackers for the management of spend and achievement vs LBEs and Plan. Partner with the business to ensure accurate and appropriate recording of expenses Recommend and drive control process improvements; Act as a member of the Romanian Leadership Team Compliance and Integrity The job holder will be responsible for conducting their activities on behalf of the company consistent with a high standard of business ethics and in compliance with the laws and regulations that govern our activities. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Qualified or near-qualified accountant with strong systems and Excel skills and a good understanding of Romanian reporting requirements (local GAAP) At least 5 years’ relevant experience in a multinational company with a focus on commercial accounting /reporting Strong time management and analytical skills; well organised and able to prioritise during time-pressured periods Capable of working on own initiative, and meeting tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy / attention to detail Ability to communicate professionally and clearly in English Ability to build positive working relationships, be responsive and proactive Must have strong business acumen.
