The Finance Office is one of the crucial administrative functions providing best-practice financial management services to support the University’s mission in teaching, research and social-economic development of Hong Kong. The Office is looking for an individual to fill the position of Senior Finance Manager.

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the appointee is expected to lead the Payroll team and contribute to the development of high-quality financial support services and adoption of best practice processes and support efficiency and value for money initiatives. The appointee will play a key role in team development, setting up of budgeting tools for management accounting and financial business planning functions of the University, and re-engineering of work processes.  In addition, the appointee will support the Director of Finance in developing, and enhancing Payroll system and Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) financial systems; and undertaking other duties as required.

The ideal candidate should possess a degree and a professional qualification in accounting. He/She should have substantial accounting experience of which at least 5 years should be at a senior level, comprising strong hands-on technical and management experience, with a strong track record in payroll, management accounting, business planning and project management.  Relevant working experience in Hong Kong will be a definite advantage.  He/She should be a hands-on seasoned finance professional with strong technical, managerial and inter-personal skills, able to work very effectively with all colleagues across the whole University.  Excellent and demonstrable leadership, management, technical, analytical, decision-making, communication, inter-personal and negotiation skills are also required.  Proficiency in both English and Chinese is desirable. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  Housing benefits will also be provided where applicable.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
