The opportunity:

The role is responsible for supporting specific functional / business areas in terms of Finance systems. As part of the Finance Systems Management team this position works with the wider Finance teams on regular reporting requirements. This is a permanent role, based ideally in Sydney.

To do this successfully you will:

  • Maintain the current finance systems to ensure data integrity into the General Ledger and finance processes. Including some daily systems reconciliations and application validations

  • Monitor and report on controls over the integrity of data transfers and interfaces between financial systems.

  • Investigate and resolve issues. Working with Business and IT stakeholders

  • Analysis of Financial transactions across the various Business Systems through to the Finance Systems

  • Using knowledge of system capabilities, rules, and architecture, convert business requirements into functional and technical designs including data transformation/mapping rules

  • Carry out technical requirement gathering, gap analysis and documentation of existing systems against business requirements.

  • Perform detailed technical analysis on systems and report changes and prepare functional specification documents

  • Ensure system designs are robust and flexible to accommodate current and future business processes

  • Carry out system testing of any Finance system development or enhancements

Successful applications will demonstrate:

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, including coordinating input from a number of contributors

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong Business Requirement and Procedure documentation capabilities

  • Sound Accounting and Management reporting knowledge

  • Strong business analysis or process improvement experience

  • Capability in managing multiple stakeholders to achieve common goals

  • Capability in converting business needs to solutions enabled by Business Intelligence and Data Analytics.

  • Systems accounting and MIS (Management Information Systems) experience around reporting applications

  • Sound knowledge of Data warehouse (principles), especially with regards to financial data and common layers

  • Proficiency with SQL and experience/knowledge of SQL Server, Visual Studio, SSIS, Excel Macros and other Finance supported BI tools.
