Senior Financial Analyst – Purchasing and Global Supply

Our location in Abbott Park, IL, currently has an opportunity for Senior Financial Analyst. 

This role is part of the Abbott Nutrition Supply Chain Division Finance team and provides critical financial support for the Global Supply Planning and Dairy organization. This role will support the Planning and Dairy organization with providing financial planning & analysis for the business by building and managing financial reports, overseeing expenses and monthly close of general ledgers to obtain timely and accurate financial reporting, preparing analysis for business reviews, and other adhoc request. This role is also responsible for Payables and supporting improvements related to monthly close, compliance and forecast accuracy. This role requires strong system skills (Excel, HFM, Symphony, HOST), and be will be expected to identify and lead process improvement opportunities.

WHAT YOU’LL DO  

Core Job Responsibilities

• Provide financial support for the Abbott Nutritional Global Supply Planning and Dairy organization.
• Responsible for budget and control, financial planning, forecasting and analysis, and ad-hoc request
• Develop strong working relationship with senior management for the assigned functional areas.
• Drive the month end close process and provide relevant reporting packages to senior management.
• Develop a strong working relationship with AN’s senior management.
• Assist with monthly reporting and quarterly planning of AN Domestic Accounts Payables/DPO.
• Serves as the Divisional expert for Payment Exceptions.
• Maintain an effective and efficient planning process for the business unit and functional areas being supported.
• Identify and lead process improvements.
• Perform and/or coordinate other ad hoc work as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU’LL BRING  

Required  

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. 
• 3-5+ years of progressive financial experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to details
• Highly proficient in Excel.
• Ability work in a dynamic, fast paced environment is essential.
• Strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated initiative, analytical thinking, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

• Experience with financial systems (SAP, HFM, etc.). Knowledge of Host preferred. 
• Experience in creating executive presentations.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently across various levels of management.
• MBA and/or CPA preferred, but not necessary, based on experience.
