Eaton’s Power Components Division is seeking a Sr. Firmware Engineer to join our team! This role will be based in Moon Township, PA and provides a hybrid work schedule. Relocation is provided! Position Overview: This position is responsible for the design and development of embedded software for Eaton’s family of circuit breakers. This includes creating functionality related to hardware drivers, protection, metering, communication, and user interface. It’s where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potential—and where you can help us reach ours Essential Functions: Performs requirement definition, issue tracking and design collaboration (for example using JAMA, Jira, & Confluence) Plans work in detail at individual level, creating a robust and track-able plan, coordinated with the larger development team Performs complex embedded software design meet & exceed marketing/customer requirements. Creates fully documented designs that are easily understood by others Review own work as well as others work in formal design and quality reviews. Tests own work or work of others, meeting quality and reliability goals. Develops a high level of technical expertise in embedded software design and over time becomes a SME for trip unit functionality. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Minimum five years relevant experience developing embedded software for electronic devices. Must be legalized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without company sponsorship now or in the future Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science Experience with embedded firmware in 8 bit through 32 bit microcontrollers (e.g. ARM Cortex, PIC) Experienced in code sharing tools and multi-person development Experienced in simulation tools such as MatLab-Simulink Knowledge of and experience with project tracking tools such as Jira Strong written and verbal communication skills Position Criteria: Proficient in C and C++ Experience with Real-time Operating systems Experience in developing device drivers and hardware bringup. Experience in implementing communication protocols Experience developing multi-threaded embedded applications Experience in using Digital Occilloscopes and logic analyzers.
