Eaton’s Power Components Division is seeking a Sr. Firmware Engineer to join our team! This role will be based at our Electrical America's headquarters in Moon Township, PA and provides a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office/2 days remote). Position Overview: We are seeking an innovative problem-solver to design firmware for electronic trip units used in circuit breakers for the Power Components Division. You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic global team to design and improve trip units and their capabilities. You will work with a team of dedicated engineers and experience the excitement of bringing new products to life from design concept through to production launch. Essential Functions: Develops a high level of technical expertise in embedded software design and over time becomes a SME for trip unit functionality. Performs complex embedded software design to meet & exceed marketing/customer expectations Assist in guiding development efforts in terms of technical implementation and in process Provides domain expertise to product support personnel to solve field issues Performs and contributes to technical research and investigations When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we- as individuals and as a company – are stronger. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Minimum five years relevant experience developing embedded software for electronic devices. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science Experience with embedded firmware in 8 bit through 32 bit microcontrollers (e.g. ARM Cortex, PIC) Experienced in code sharing tools and multi-person development Experienced in simulation tools such as MatLab-Simulink Knowledge of and experience with project tracking tools such as Jira Strong written and verbal communication skills Position Criteria: Proficient in C and C++ Experience with Real-time Operating systems Experience in developing device drivers and hardware bringup. Experience in implementing communication protocols Experience developing multi-threaded embedded applications Experience in using Digital Occilloscopes and logic analyzers.
