Senior HSE Engineer for our wind power activities in Taiwan

Job Description
Do you want to be part of improving and maintaining HSE performance on offshore wind farms?
Join us and become Senior HSE Engineer in our HSE Management team where you’ll take part in implementing and maintaining a strong HSE management culture across our activities in Taiwan. You’ll be supporting our offshore wind construction projects in protecting people and the environment and cooperate closely with colleagues in Europe and the USA.
The department provides Project HSE Manager and HSE Advisor support to the construction projects through the company’s global matrix organization.
In Taiwan, our Group develops and builds 1.8GW of offshore wind projects as well as storage solutions in Changhua; and we co-own Taiwan’s first offshore wind project, Formosa 1.
Your key tasks will be to
  • support the line and project management at construction sites in developing a strong HSE culture with a working culture characterized by trust and openness
  • liaise between the line management, project management, HSE manager(s), and contractors and help to set standards and provide guidance, while practicing the HSE disciplines yourself to role model the way forward
  • support the development of HSE strategies and advocate the needed changes, by defining the initiatives needed and driving the execution, and engaging others by making the case for change and explaining roles and responsibilities
  • identify project HSE needs and address them proactively as well as being recognized as a trusted advisor and for taking initiatives in due time
  • facilitate strong collaboration within our HSE community, our organization, and its contractors.
Furthermore, you’ll lead the development of customized solutions. You’ll perform HSE audits/inspections of construction sites and suppliers and review risk assessments and method statements from contractors. You’ll also report, follow up on and close accidents, near misses and observations in our incident reporting system.
In addition, you’ll build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and lead the development of best practice. Finally, you’ll constructively handle conflicts and opposing interests.
Your competences include that you
  • have a relevant academic or technical background followed by documented HSE experience within construction activities, where you constantly role model a safety culture that promotes effective management of HSE
  • have the ability to investigate health and safety-related issues
  • have excellent communication skills; speak and write Mandarin and English fluently and master, for example, the MS Office suite to develop, document and share your day-to-day activities.
