Eaton's Aerospace Group is currently seeking a Senior Human Resource Generalist to join our team. This position is based in our Los Angeles, CA facility. The LA facility has approximately 250 employees (and growing) and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets. Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The annual salary range for this role is $88,800 to $122,100. Position Overview: Reporting to the HR Manager, the Senior Human Resource Generalist will support the administration and execution of Human Resources functions such as communication, coaching, employee relations, compensation analysis, employee benefits, employee development and compliance initiatives. This role will provide HR generalist (day-to-day) support for employees and manager’s support and support achievement of facility goals, targets and objectives for the Los Angeles, CA site. In this function you will: "Walk the floor," and be available for employee and manager needs. Provide advice and counsel to managers and employees to ensure consistent application of policies, performance management/discipline, procedures and practices are in compliance to promote an ethical and compliant work environment. Provide guidance and coaching to managers and employees with specific focus on employee advocacy/engagement, conflict resolution, employee relations, performance development, talent assessment, acquisition and retention. Responsible for the hourly recruitment process including staffing updates, assessment and selection, onboarding new employees, etc. Lead site new employee welcome and orientation and other key learning and development initiatives while evaluating and revising programs as necessary. Site liaison with GFSS (corporate payroll COE). Submitting requests for final paychecks, fitness reimbursements, timecard updates in Kronos, etc. Manage leaves of absences (PPL, FMLA, STD, LTD, Military LOA) maintaining compliance to applicable labor laws. Liaison between site, employees, and 3rd party administrators. Assist the HR Team with all HR life cycle processes including performance calibrations, assessments/audits, support site communication plan (scheduling AHM’s, monthly roundtables etc.), hourly merit planning, affirmative action plan, etc. Lead performance development calibration process for hourly workforce (previously APEX for Manufacturing) to ensure that goals meet SMART criteria, development plans are well formed, and all action deadlines are met. Partner with the site HR Leader to execute corporate initiatives and programs, such as I&D, employee survey and action planning. Key role in driving annual employee survey participation, communication plan, organizing department results, site/department actions, and feedback sessions. Backup Designated Employer Representative (DER) for the plant’s FAA Drug and Alcohol Compliance Program; maintain compliance. Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local government posting requirements. Comply with local laws (Los Angeles, California and federal labor laws, OSHA, EEO and Affirmative Action) ensuring a positive, non-discriminatory and safe work environment. These changes may include reviewing local policies, procedures and employee guidebook. Maintain and protect confidential data with utmost scrutiny, judgment, and care. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Minimum two (2) years of human resources experience, in a manufacturing plant or operations environment. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Los Angeles, CA (90039) will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in business, human resource management, industrial relations, organizational psychology or industrial/organizational psychology from an accredited institution. PHR/SPHR Certified. Experience in the areas of coaching, employee relations, compensation, performance management, employee development, and change management. Aerospace FAA/DOT Experience is a plus. Ability to work, on occasion, a varied schedule to be available for employees. Position Criteria: Maintains a high standard of ethics. Ability to deal with ambiguity and make effective decisions. General knowledge of employment laws and ability to apply legal concepts to real world situations. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, across a wide audience with the ability to interact effectively and present in front of large groups of people. Ability to deal with conflict and diffuse difficult situations. Ability to manage multiple projects/activities; results driven.
