We are looking for a Sr. Image Quality Design Verification Engineer for the HoloLens Sensor Team with responsibilities for ongoing evaluation, benchmarking and characterization of cameras and sensors used in HoloLens. The HoloLens Sensor Team is responsible for design, characterization, and integration of sensors including camera modules, inertial motion sensors, and other environmental sensors.

Responsibilities

• Define validation plans and create test cases
• Manage and maintain test labs, test equipment, test procedures, and data collected
• Join in early stage new technology and camera sub-system bring up
• Conduct data analysis and document results
• Collaborate with design engineers for problem solving and design optimization
• Drive testing and ongoing support from early prototype to product launch
• Work with the engineering team to develop manufacturing test processes at the contract manufacturer
• Conduct environmental and reliability tests
• Work effectively across functional teams including program management, mechanical engineering, optical engineering, and software

Qualifications

Qualifications
• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years experience validating custom hardware designs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work across disciplines, including the ability to work with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software algorithm developers, manufacturing engineers, managers, reliability, and vendors.

Desired:
• Experience testing custom lenses and/or camera modules.
• Understanding of image quality metrics and evaluation methodology
• Knowledge of image sensor operation, test methods, and tuning Familiarity with camera components and functions
• Experience with objective camera bench testing and subjective image quality analysis
• Experience with commercially available image quality test packages such as Imatest and IE Analyzer.
• Ability to script in Matlab and Python a plus.
