Eaton’s electrical sector is currently seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our South Milwaukee facility. Relocation assistance will be provided. Position Overview: We are looking for an exceptional & entrepreneurial Sr Industrial Engineer to spearhead the industrial planning & execution of our power systems factory and beyond. In this role, forge strong partnerships with technical & operational teams to develop and own layouts, industrialize assembly operation and perform material flow analytics to scale assembly cells to achieve higher volumes. The primary function is to eliminate waste in production processes and make sure systems make the best-integrated use of workers, machines, materials, information, and energy with ultimate goal of achieving the highest possible efficiency and throughput possible. In this function you will: Be the key resource in industrial engineering team responsible for designing, optimizing and owning the factory layouts, material flow design, line balancing, logistics planning, and industrial analytics. Own and partner on material flow planning, including PFEP, buffer sizing, conveyance automation, site, and space planning. Develop material flow and layout metrics to drive factory efficiency with the cross-functional teams (manufacturing, operations, quality, etc.). Measure, establish, and optimize capacity specs/targets (OEE and cycle times). Maximize material flow efficiency, storage, inline and interline buffers. Optimize the factory square foot utilization, eliminating non-value-add movement or processes. Understand and challenge every process in the factory with the goal to iteratively improve the factory output and efficiencies Distill many inputs into a few: delivering world-class decision support for senior leaders and executives When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. *MSJA #LI-ED2 Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution required Minimum 3 years of manufacturing or industrial engineering experience Experience in AutoCAD or similar CAD software Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, or similar Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Black Belt certification Knowledge or Experience in Lean Manufacturing I4.0 Operations Technology Deployment Experience Experience with low volume, high mix manufacturing assembly environments Position Criteria: Knowledge in OEE, capacity planning, cycle time analysis, and line balancing Knowledge of Process Control Methods (Statistical Process Control, Cpk) Skill & experience in factory layout planning Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal We provide benefits that are industry competitive and focused on employee well-being.
