Pro-Act Training and Development Centre (Electrical)

Major Duties:
(a) To perform teaching duties including student assessment, operating and maintaining training facilities and equipment to support teaching and learning;
(b) To supervise Instructors in conducting classroom teaching, practical training and trade test;
(c) To develop / review syllabi and teaching and learning packages, and assist in programme development and reviewing programme curricula;
(d) To carry out student and academic related administrative duties, such as timetabling, assessment schedules, admission, job placement and study guidance;
(e) To assist in staff management, resources allocation, budgeting, fund control and acquisition of training equipment / materials, and other related duties;
(f) To develop and maintain networks with the industry, related associations and professional bodies;
(g) To assist in implementing quality assurance policies including health and safety procedures for training activities; and
(h) To assist in coordinating / organising special events and competitions.
Requirements:
(a) A recognised higher diploma in Building Services Engineering, or equivalent;
(b) At least 6 years’ work or teaching experience in the relevant industry;
(c) A registered Electrical Worker and a valid Licensed Plumber;
(d) Proficiency in English and Chinese;
(e) Good knowledge of basic computer applications;
(f) Good supervisory, communication and interpersonal skills;
(g) Proactive, self-motivated and willing to learn;
(h) Pass a trade test; and
(i) Preferably with extensive experience in design / installation / testing and commissioning / operation and maintenance of building services systems such as plumbing and drainage services / fire services / building automation, etc.
Notes:
(1) Candidates without the required academic qualification stated in (a) in the Requirements above but possessing 12 years’ work or teaching experience in the relevant industry may also apply. Where applicable, these candidates may be required to have a Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 3 qualification.
(2) The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and in designated places as assigned.
(3) In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
