Job Description
Siemens Large Drives is looking for a multifaceted Inventory Specialist that will direct safe and timely distribution of parts for our products in our New Kensington, PA, factory. This includes performing financial analytics to determine which materials are turning the most and which are under-performing. The Inventory Specialist also provides strategic planning for efficient use of warehouse space, planning for future inventory levels aligned with business forecast and new product introduction. Lead warehouse operations to support overall business requirements Continual improvement of inventory and fulfillment operations and warehouse technologies Working directly with the Purchasing department to ensure proper stocking levels are maintained Plan and implement efficient utilization of warehouse layout and racking schemes Analyze data and statistics to continually improve warehouse levels and process improvement Define and Implement logistics models for product families. Responsibilities: Champions a safe work environment and efficient use of warehouse space Ensure accurate product inventory supporting business/customer requirements Connect with Source Manager about current stock and potential issues with orders Conduct data analyses to business forecast to identify potential inventory issues Report on inventory activities and variances, maintaining accurate cycle counts Lead and motivation to team members to achieve business goals Implementing promotional recommendations as well as disciplinary actions as required. Troubleshoots and resolves semi-complex problems Applying SAP and software packages to automate and advance inventory and material movement activities Leading internal department budget and arranging purchase orders for inventoried materials. Report findings, reports, and data to management Reports to the Source Manager Required Education/Experience/Skills: Experience with inventory management and warehousing in a production environment Have 5+ years of related managerial experience and/or inventory control experience Strong math and analytical skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to lead cross-functional projects with effective implementation Digital literacy required including SAP (or MRP system) and analytical tools (Excel) Where permitted by applicable law, Siemens may require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 based on job requirements, and in accordance with an accommodation based on legally protected reasons.
