Whether in renewable energies, transportation, agriculture technology or healthcare, infrastructure projects and investments often require substantial amounts of financing. Siemens Financial Services Equity Finance (SFS EQ) offers a broad variety of equity financing solutions to make these projects happen, both for the customer and the involved Siemens Operating and Strategic companies. SFS EQ takes an active owner role by providing up to 50% of the required equity of a project, platform, or company investment over the lifetime (development, construction, operation). SFS EQ Asia Australia (AA) has offices in Mumbai, Singapore, and Sydney. The role of SFS EQ AA’s Asset Management team is to identify risks of potential investments and possible mitigations during the origination phase and manage the assets successfully invested into. With Asset Management offices in Erlangen/Germany, Mumbai, and soon Singapore we will now build out our presence further in Sydney. The Senior Risk Manager’s key responsibility is twofold: You will be responsible for the risk assessment of projects under origination. This includes the due diligence (commercial, financial, legal, technical, ESG, Compliance) and valuation of a target and mandating advisors for this purpose, and the analysis, structuring, negotiation, and final execution of all contracts for the equity investment as a member of a transaction team. The transaction team’s core members are from Origination, Asset Management, Finance and Legal, who closely coordinate with a variety of corporate support functions such as Compliance, Strategy, Mergers & Competition, Tax, Accounting, etc. when originating an investment. You will further be responsible for the long-term management of the invested asset, including project company set-up, C-suite staffing, board representation, and internal reporting and coordination with accounting and business administration, until its divestment, which you will recommend when ideal and lead. Region is Asia / Australia. What skills and experience will you bring to the role? • You feel comfortable acquainting with new business cases, project documentation, financial models and are familiar with the energy and infrastructure sectors in the region, as well as current market conditions and financing trends • You have a master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Law, or equivalent education and experience and approximately 7+ years’ capital investment/structured finance experience. • Ability to quickly understand new markets in foreign jurisdictions • Effectively and diplomatically manage expectations and alignment of key internal and external project stakeholders in an inter-cultural environment • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative, creativity and tenacity completing tasks • Willingness to travel, including internationally and on short notice We would like to complement our team with an individual whose behaviour is fit for our team culture where we value: • Ability to lead and own projects with motivated, proactive, and positive attitude • Capacity to make and communicate well-informed and analytical decisions • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure • Ability to work independently as well as in teams with respect and integrity We are an equal opportunity employer and committed to the development of a workforce that reflects diversity of talent, skillset, gender, ethnical background.
