We are scouting for a Senior Java Developer for one of our Java delivery-based teams. To be able to work in this team, you’ll need knowledge and experience that go beyond "ordinary" Java skills. Our teams build highly scalable frameworks and Web applications based on JPA 2.0, OData RESTful Web service, Spring and more. We also continuously research upcoming technologies like Akka, Scala, playframework and Node.JS for use in our products.

The delivery software runs at customers serving millions of page views per day served by hundreds of servers. So you can imagine the technological challenges we face in order to provide a scalable architecture that not only does what customers want, but also performs well. We did a pretty good job so far: we are a market leader in the Web content management area (according to analysts like Forrester). But to stay on top, we are looking to expand with talented developers.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop highly scalable products using mostly Java technologies
• Discuss business requirements with the Product Owner and translate these into solid designs
• Coordinate between product lines
• Define and contribute to the team process
• Provide input to technical writers
• Understand and contribute to product architecture

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & PERSONALITY

• Thorough experience in Java software design and development of mission-critical systems (JSE/ Java EE), preferably within a product company
• Knowledge of Hibernate and JPA persistence technologies
• Knowledge of the Spring framework
• Experience in Web services development in REST
• Experience with unit testing, mocking and integration testing
• Build tooling experience with Maven/Gradle
• Experience with OO design, UML and design patterns
• Knowledge of scalability and concurrency aspects
• Strong interest in interacting / leading across product lines
• Good communication skills. Fluent in English in reading, writing and speaking

DESIRABLE SKILLS

• Knowledge of Scala
• Knowledge of Web frameworks, like Spring MVC and Play framework
• Knowledge of application servers such as WebLogic, WebSphere and so on
