About The Role:

We’re looking for a Java Developer with 6+ years of experience who would like to work in our WorldServer team.  Our ideal colleague is someone who finds a mature product software as a challenge. He also wants to assure the most efficient cost/quality in the software environment.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Java developer for WorldServer, you will:

• Design and develop high quality solutions in line with our department standards and strategy
• Work alongside the Architect, QA, Product Owner and UX to design, scope, build and release features
• Work with QA to troubleshoot failures in the various test environments
• Coach and/or mentor less experienced members of the software development team
• Transfer subject-matter expertise to other members of the team where appropriate
• Formalize and lead the adoption of software development best practices
• Manage the technical debt backlog for the product
• Propose technical solutions for the resolution of defects
• Contribute to security requirements (and other NFRs)
• Lead code quality initiatives (code refactoring, code reviews)
• Create new and maintain existing architecture documentation for product or component
• Perform maintenance programming and correction of identified defects
• Identify or implement quality initiatives (code refactoring, code reviews)
• Tech stack: Java 17, Spring, DataDirect, Hibernate, QueryDSL, Tomcat, JavaScript, HTML5, Oracle, MSSQL, Jasper Reports

Requirements:

• 6 or more years of experience in development experience
• Good knowledge of software and application design and architecture
• Experience in building web applications using Java technologies
• Very good OOP and Design Patterns knowledge
• Experience with Java 11/17
• Very good knowledge related to unit testing and test-driven development
• Experience with SQL (Oracle and SQL Server) and NO SQL databases is a plus
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins
• Good knowledge of Spring 4, Hibernate
• Experience with REST and SOAP WebServices
• Experience with both Windows and Linux platforms
• Extensive knowledge of debugging and troubleshooting applications
• JavaScript, JavaScript libraries (jQuery, KnockoutJs, React, etc.), HTML, CSS Layout
• Experience with Jasper Reports is a plus
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to take ownership of issues and a quality-oriented approach
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Great verbal communication skills, practical documentation and writing skills
• Highly self-motivated
