Senior Landscape Architect

The Senior Architect acts as a Landscape Supervisor and supports all teams to ensure that landscape designs compliment our architectural projects, whilst meeting our corporate identity. He/She oversees and supervises a team of Landscape Artists and reports to the Creative Director.

responsibilities
_coordinate between designer, senior architect and other special planners
_support and cooperate with other team members on landscape questions
_oversee the design of a variety of projects, including urban regeneration schemes, pedestrian schemes, road or retail schemes, and maintaining the character of sites of natural beauty
_establish general landscape requirements with clients
_provide innovative and aesthetically pleasing environments
_conduct preliminary studies of the site (including contours, soil, ecology, buildings, roads)
_assess a site's potential to meet the client's specifications
_carry out environmental impact assessments
_seek and take into account the views of local residents, potential users, and parties with vested interest in the project
_accurately prepare and present detailed plans and working drawings, including applications, construction details and specifications for the project
_make maps of the area and chart the positions of existing buildings and trees
_make topographic surveys
_check the makeup of the soil and its exposure to the sun and wind
_find out the value of the property and how much traffic crosses the land
_chart the placement of utility lines
_submit recommendations, along with maps, photographs, reports, and sketches of what the areas should look like
_match the client's wishes with your knowledge of what will work best
_be able to integrate into any team and respect colleagues
_be willing to follow given design directions and work to provide the best solutions
_be able to present verbal and written communication in clear, concise and professional manner
_ability to work independently after receiving task

experience / skills
_min. 8 years landscape drawing experience
_advanced technical ability and good know how of chinese rules and regulations
_experience producing construction drawing sets
_communication in english
_autoCAD proficient, Sketchup, InDesign, Photoshop
_experience in foreign company preferred
