Senior Developer / Lead Developer

Key Responsibilities:

• The candidate will be part of a global development team with responsibility for designing, building and deploying a global market data platform. This will involve the following:
  • Development of business-oriented functionality
  • System testing and deployment
  • System support and maintenance
  • Working with Front and Middle office users to gather requirements and provide support

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science at minimum
• At least 5 years Java development experience, with solid core Java knowledge; Rich experience in multi-threading, knowledge of JVM memory tuning is a plus
• Experienced in building back-end application servers
• Good understanding of Distributed Systems
• Good understanding of design patterns and agile technologies
• Linux/Unix experience
• Full software lifecycle (requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance)
• Sybase / Database development
• Messaging (MQ / JMS / TIBCO / Solace)
• XML, Spring Framework

General Skills Required:

• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Good team mentality and communication skills
• Good knowledge of Fixed Income trading business (Derivatives, Bonds, Futures, FX)
• Experience of front office trading system development and support in various asset classes

Preferred:

• Distributed data caching technologies (Gemfire, Coherence, Gigaspaces)
• Real time messaging (e.g. Tibco Rendezvous, EMS, Solace)
• Big Data technologies (HDFS, HBase/MapR, Spark etc.)
• Micro-Service technologies (Spring Cloud, Spring Boot, Service Mesh)
• Spring Framework
• Previous exposure to market data systems
• Understanding of financial products, specifically risk associated with fixed income products
• Leadership skills, previous experience in project or team lead
